“The service has always been outstanding and its a great
place to meet with friends, catch up with an old friend,
or take a new friend on a date. It has a classy yet
comfortable style and because of the way the tables and

“This is one of my favorite bars in Seattle! The food
is delicious and cocktail quality is always of obvious
importance to the staff. They have a great wine selection and
a romantic, quiet, non-meat-market atmosphere. Highly
recommended for dates.”
5 Stars - 1/6/2010
“This is one of my FAVORITE places to have drinks with
friends. The location in the amazingly adorable Queen Anne
area makes it the perfect spot to meet up. The drinks are
always good (my personal favorite is the Sage Greyhound) and
the service is untouchable as far as bars go. The interior is
so cozy you feel like you're sitting in someone's living room
having an intimate talk, no matter how many people are around
you (it's always packed).”
5 Stars - 1/30/2010
“The Sitting Room manages to turn a space in fairly
plain and unexciting building into a bar that feels like it
was plucked out of 1940s Paris, or so I like to tell myself.
Everything about the atmosphere is sexy and awesome - the
dim lighting, the yellow walls, the section with vintage
furniture, the french posters (especially a fan of the "la
vache qui rit" one), and the light up globe at the end of

“I come here to drink, to bask in the company of friends,
to talk (which can be difficult sometimes - it's so loud
inside!), and then drink some more. I've only eaten here once,
don't like to dull the effects of the alcohool too much ;),
and found the cheese plate and the lox (with capers!) to be an
excellent nibbling experience. Try the Tiramisu cocktail if you
need a chocolate fix. Icily delightful.”

“Located just around the corner from perf-art hotspot
On the Boards at the bottom of Queen Anne hill, the Sitting Room
is a sweetly laid-back Euro-bistro charmer. During happy hour
things get even sweeter, with discounted hors d'oeuvres, well
drinks, draught beer, and house wine. Select an ambitious
cocktail (citrus Lillet!), plop yourself down on a gorgeous
antique sofa, and treat yourself to some temporarily thrifty
edible delights, from Salumi signature salami to the amazing
European cheese plate.”

“Intimate tables and a well-worn sofa and chairs blur
the lines between cafe and living room at this eminently
comfortable Queen Anne bar. Gently glowing lamps cast shadows
across the burgundy cement floors and golden walls. Regulars
drink wine and eat snacks at the zinc-top bar, or settle in with
friends at tables for signature cocktails and affordable dinner
plates. The front window, an old garage door, is thrown open on
sunny days--enjoy the breeze and pretend you're in Paris.”

“Relax on an antique sofa, unwind at the elegant zinc bar
or get cozy at a candlelit bistro table in this intimate café on
lower Queen Anne that's fine for a late-night rendezvous or
after-work sojourn. The stylish and romantic ambience has classy
European overtones---a lovely change from today's sleek, hard-edged
bars. Wine fans will enjoy the emphasis on French vintages---both
red and white---with about 15 pours by the glass to accompany
the bottle offerings. Sophisticated, creative cocktails are also
an option, along with apéritifs. Despite the lack of a full
dinner menu, it's easy to make a satisfying repast out of salads,
pork pâté, daily soups, caponata or charcuterie. The proximity to
Seattle Center's theaters makes the venue popular with thespians
before and after the curtain, or for walkers who want a reward
after strolling down Queen Anne hill.”
“The very low, very sexy orange lighting at The Sitting
Room makes it a perfect spot for a secret retreat with your
sweetie. Lean in close and coo over candlelight at your table,
or discreetly hunker down next to one another on the banquette.
Be sure to bring your appetite: The food is excellent — the pâté
au poivre noir and the artisan cheese plate are our faves — and
the wines are divine.”
“This is one chewy martini. The Queen Anne gathering
place shakes up English cucumber puree with lemon juice and a
dose Hendrick’s gin or Ketel One vodka for a drink so
refreshing, the potency sneaks up on you”

“European cheese heads can get their fix at The Sitting
Room, where, during happy hour the bar’s first-rate European
cheese plate is $6. The three cheese offerings on the plate
change periodically; when we last went, pieces of D’Affinois
and Tomme de Savoie-French cow’s milk cheeses and wine-cured
goat’s milk cheese from Spain, were served. Pair your plate
with a glass of Riesling or Minvervois.”

“Everything about this cozy spot encourages ths patrons
to slow down and smell the roses (or Brie, organic Pinot Grigio,
or free-range country pate’). The food, like the pace, is tres
European: hors d’oeuvres like Salumi salami and cornichons, or

paste and toasted pecans. Settle down with some European smoked
salmon, a glass of red wine, and a novel, and expect not to be
